Talking about legendary restaurants, none can reach the status that karim’s has attained. Many people associate Mughlai or Delhi food with this place. Although quality has gone down over the years, it still does some dishes fantastically well.

3. DHABA BY CLARIDGES

The original is at Claridges Hotel, but there are many restaurant versions around the city and the food is lip smackingly brilliant. Based on the concept of Indian Dhabas, the food is full of bold flavours and the cocktails are innovative.

4. PAPAYA

One of the best Pan Asian destinations in Delhi, it is not just a great place for food but an awesome party place as well. It is also a modern take on classic Asian flavours but the ingredients are freshly flown from abroad and the quality shows.

5. BUKHARA

Nothing more can be said that already hasn’t been said about this truly iconic restaurant. Food cannot get better than this. Specialising in North Western Frontier Province food, they have taken the use of tandoor to a different level, with every dish better than the other.

6. SITA RAM DEWAN CHAND

Chole Bhaturey is synonymous with Delhi and there is no place that does it better than here. Though every neighbourhood has their favourite but the warm, spicy Choley here is as good as you can get. For a true street food experience in Delhi.

7. BURMA BURMA

One of the newer places in town, opening just a couple of years ago, this is a vegetarian restaurant serving some of the best Burmese food in Delhi. The aromas, the broth, the khow suey is as authentic as you can get.

8. FAT LULU’S

Though one can endlessly debate, Fat Lulu’s serves the best pizzas in town. Inspired by the great NY pizza tradition, the ingredients are all flown in from abroad including the cheese. Also, the flavours are brilliant and so is the crust, thin, crunchy and perfect.

9. CARNATIC CAFE

Representing the coastal Karnataka belt, this little eatery serves the best South Indian staples in Delhi.  The Dosas are not the regular kind (they are thicker) but everything is fresh and absolutely spot on.

10. BIG CHILL

Ubiquitous with the Delhi crowd since many, many years, it still has unbeatable reputation and crowds teem in all the time. Big Chill is responsible in many ways to have brought the pasta revolution to the North Indian heart of India. Portion sizes are huge, the atmosphere is cool and the food is as good as when it started. Even the desserts here are very popular and delectable.
