…and I give 1 to Shahrukh Khan for the first 25% of the movie and to Anushka Sharma for her accent. Shahrukh is funny and he is a brilliant actor but even he couldn’t carry this soul-less script on his shoulders. Two wonderful actors WASTED. The first 25% of the movie comes with a lot of hope and promise but once it starts to go downhill there isn’t any stopping it.
It’s hard to believe that the movie maker Imtiaz Ali, the guy who made a wonderful film like “Highway” made this “p**pie” film. This may sound harsh but as I’m watching the film I’m thinking Shahrukh Khan gave up acting halfway too because he must have been like “ye kya karwa rahe hain mujhse” and the same applies to Anushka Sharma, she didn’t try at all, and this is Anushka who I think is a brilliant actress.
There are a few funny scenes in the movie, especially the one with Chandan Roy Sanyal that would make you laugh but those scenes are not enough to save this disaster of a movie.
It really seemed like Imtiaz Ali was like “yay Shahrukh has agreed to do my movie so now i’ll write a script in a day!”
The saddest part: they went to so many different cities but all I remeber is an ugly bridge and a hotel room. I couldn’t help but miss how beautifully Zoya Akhtar had captured the beautiful cities of Spain in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. Why couldn’t Imtiaz Ali do the same?
