Dabbas in office and school can be pretty intimidating but the ones available in Shangri-la’s Tamra are something to look forward to!
Packed in brightly coloured, three-tiered dabbas, you meal is delivered to you in a very quirky manner. The server comes riding on a bicycle and rings his ghanti when he reaches your table, indicating you food has arrived.
Inspired by the world-famous Dabbawalas of Mumbai, Executive Chef Neeraj Tyagi, along with his culinary masters have curated the various different tiffin lunch options. Paying tribute to these Dabbawalas, he has created as many as seven meal combinations from cuisines across the world with a local touch to it.
We were lucky to have a window seat which gave us the beautiful view of the patio area. The award-winning restaurant that Tamra is in itself is like a piece of art. The various seating options offers you ample choice to go for your preferred one.
The Thailand ka Dabba has Chicken Krapow, Vegetable Green Curry and Jasmine Rice; Desi Chineez has Chilli Chicken, Vegetable Manchurian and Fried Rice with a fiery Indian twist; Phorner Dabba offers Baked Macaroni, Grilled Chicken, Ratatouille and Garlic Bread; Desi Dabba has Bhuna Boti Masala, Lehsuni Dal, Mint and Tamatar ka Pulao; Mera Gaon Mera Desh comes with Puran Singh ka Kukkad, Kadi Pakoda and Saaha Chawal; Shudh Shakahari (the only pure-veg dabba) has Tawa Chaap, Kairi ki Dal and Pulao; and South ka Dabba with Andhra Fish Curry and Koi Vepudu!
With each dabba, the breads and accompaniments are served in a separate plate. You can pair your dabba with a beverage of your choice – Thanda Banta, Shikanji or Masala Cola.
