A cab booked from Shillong to Cherrapunjee cost us ₹3200. It was a Toyota Etios and the driver Colvir was wonderful.
He stopped at all the right places and took us to a lot of caves and waterfalls.
The heart shaped rock we saw was great but the best part was the movie shooting spot where films like Rock On and Kurbaan were shot.
Entry is ₹20 per head but you may have to pay extra for taking a camera or smartphone inside. This waterfall is particularly beautiful as it seems like the water is falling on you and some of it really does.
We took a very scenic route to the 300 mtrs long cave. The caves were wonderful. The kind of dark dense caves you see on the discovery channel. It was totally worth it to visit the Arwah Caves.
Lunch was at Orange Roots. The hostess was weird but the staff was wonderful. They food was decent and we paid around ₹170-₹230 per thali.
If you are in Cherrapunjee, you might also want to stop at Ramkrishna Mission.
Late in the evening we reached Shillong at stopped at ML05 cafe. It is one of the coolest places you will find around Upper Shillong. It has great food, go for the pork dumplings. For two people you will pay around ₹1500.
We got back late and spend time reminiscing.
