Prego at the uber chic Westin, Gurgaon has come up with a new set menu that will appeal to all who want to have an authentic Italian experience at a very affordable price.
Set at 1299/-, it has enough variety to keep you pondering over and includes a full three-course Italian feast.
I began my meal with a classic caesar salad called the Prego caesar. This was a classic salad done perfectly, you get what you expect and it was delectable. fresh romaine lettuce, juicy chicken and what made this dish were a couple of hard boiled eggs along with very crisp, salty bacon. Along with Parmesan shavings, this was my favourite dish and one of the better salads I’ve had.
The minestrone soup was the next course and was quite good too. Although I like my soups a little punchy, it more than made up with the plethora of perfectly cooked vegetables with a hint of olive oil on top it is great for someone on a diet.
The next course was the vegetarian arrabiata. It was a different arrabiata to the ones I have generally had and it was pleasant but the pizza in the next course was quite good.
The freshly made dough always helps but here Chef de Cuisine Silas has brought great flavours together and shows in each bite of the pizza.
Finally, we had the crowning glories of the meal, dessert. The tiramisu is a staple Italian dessert that all Italian restaurants have on the menu but Prego’s tiramisu was really top notch. Creamy, sweet, rich and with the kick of that chocolate powder at the end, go here just to gorge on this and it will be worth it.
Chef Silas was kind enough to send us a plate of fried squid from the main menu as well and it made me look forward to trying his new menu out soon.
The menu is great as is but considering the price and the quality of food you get, it is a no brainer.
