Recipe: Banana Bread


This is the most delicious banana bread recipe you will ever encounter. It is very simple to make.

If you want the bread to be perfect use over-ripe bananas as they give a lot of natural sweetness to the bread.


  • Over ripe bananas, peeled – 1
  • Melted butter – 4 tablespoons
  • Oil – 1 tablespoon
  • Yoghurt – 1 tablespoon
  • Baking soda – 1 teaspoon
  • Salt – a pinch
  • Sugar – 4 tablespoons
  • Honey – 1 tablespoon
  • Eggs – 2
  • Vanilla extract – 1 tablespoon
  • All-purpose flour or whole-wheat flour (healthy) – 8 tablespoons


1 Preheat the oven to 180°C and butter a loaf pan.

2 In the mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas and mix butter into the mashed bananas.

3 Then, mix the baking soda, salt, sugar, beaten eggs, vanilla extract and flour.

4 Pour the batter into your greased pan. Bake for 40 minutes to 1 hour at 180°C or until a tester inserted into the center comes out clean.


5 Remove from oven and cool completely before eating.

Tip: This can also be enjoyed with some cheese and a walnut. If you have a sweet tooth, pour some honey over the bread.
