Its a matter of celebration to finally have so many party places open up in the Suburbs! After Hoppipola and Goregaon Socials, Penthouzz in Kandivali East was happily welcomed in this neighborhood.
The space is huge and has a pretty colourful set up. It is divided into two sections; Smoking and Non-Smoking (AC). It’s located on the rooftop of V-Mall, hence giving you a very pleasant feel and view during the night. The outdoor section has two parts.. The part on the terrace has swings as chairs. It’s truly interesting. But I doubt if I would be comfortable eating my food there. They also have Pool Tables for us to play at Rs. 100 per game. We had some great fun playing while our food arrived.
This place mainly attracts Hookah lovers, but they have an equally tempting menu for Cocktails, Mocktails and Food!
If you are in a mood to party, definitely go on the weekends where the music is loud and happening. The drawback to that is, the place is usually crowded (specially the outdoor section) and the service might be a little goofed up. I think because the kitchen gets super busy during the weekends.
If you would want to have a nice dinner with friends or family any weekday evening would be great as the place is a lot more empty and the service is much better.
If you want to go on a lunch to mainly talk a lot (meetings perhaps), then go on a weekday afternoon when the music is at a lower volume and the place is completely empty. You get full attention from the staff.
In all the above scenarios, what impressed me was that the service was very quick no matter what. All our orders came within 10-15 minutes max. The guy in charge of hookahs were very prompt in changing the coals and stuff. None of us had to wait long to get any service.
Now lets talk about what we ate. For starters we ordered Almond & Broccoli Soup, Mushroom Double Deckers and Cheesy Fries.
For Mocktails, we had:
Aaaand here comes the yummy food we ordered:
We try Aglio Olio wherever we go. So had to order this one at Penthouzz too. The first time we ordered was on a weekday, and it came like this, good looking and spicy.
But when we went on the weekend, they kind of goofed up a little. It might be because weekends are always packed at this place and the kitchens is understandably quite busy. They were very cordial and immediately replaced it with a smile.
Then came Desserts!
The food menu has been designed by the Head Chef, Vikas Negi. Although quite young (only 26), he seems to have achieved quite a lot in his journey as a Chef. His youthfulness and experience of over 6 years, reflects in the dishes adding a lot of zest to them.
Chef’s Recommendation: Mushroom Double Decker and Tandoori Chicken Wings.
My Favourites: Almond & Broccoli Soup, Thai Green Curry and the Boost Panacotta.
Everything said and done, I liked this place for what they have to offer. The DJ plays some awesome music ranging from Pop, EDM to Bollywood. They are starting Bollywood Karaoke Nights on Wednesdays starting from Feb 1st, 2017!
Really hope this place stays for long!!!
