Arabian Nites, a Lebanese food joint located in Supermart 1, DLF Phase 4, Gurgaon, is your perfect go-to place to satiate those hunger pangs. Given it’s proximity to the Huda City Centre metro station, the joint is a must try for Middle-Eastern cuisine lovers!
Although the seating area is limited, the warm and pleasing ambience, the cordial hospitality and the delicious food make it worth the visit.
The place has an open kitchen which further makes you want to gorge on whatever they have to offer. I ordered the Non-Veg Platter, to start with, which was served immaculately containing Grilled Chicken, Chicken Shawarma, Hummus, Baba Ghanoush and pickle.
The chicken was perfectly cooked. It was tender and juicy which it rarely is at other places. It was marinated in basic herbs and spices. The interesting thing that it was barbecued without oil! The skin of the chicken helped it to cook without oil which made it taste so good. Chicken shawarma was one of my favourites. The chicken tasted delicious. It had the perfect blend of seasonings. It was a little on the zesty side but not too much to spoil your palette. The base was the pita bread which was the best part. It gave a nice body to the shawarma. The shawarma in itself is filling if you take something to drink with it.
They did complete justice to the classic dips Hummus and Baba Ghanoush. The texture and taste were both out of the world! Hummus is made mainly with chickpeas and sesame. It had a mild but a very nice taste of sesame which was exactly the way it is supposed to be. A splash of olive oil took the dip to a whole new level. The secret to a perfect Baba ghanoush is roasting aubergine perfectly. Their baba ghanoush had a great smokey flavour and the texture was amazing. The balance of spices in both was bang on!
Also, if you’re a fan of fiery food you must try their homemade hot sauce. It is the perfect accompaniment with the grilled chicken. It’s almost like a match made in heaven.
Next I ordered was the Vegetarian Platter, which had Paneer Shawarma, Falafel and the dips. Paneer shawarma is also a hit just like the chicken shawarma. The paneer was cooked at the right temperature as it wasn’t rubbery or hard. Their spice blend is perfect for someone who loves to enjoy a little spicy food once in a while. Nobody would go disappointed from this place. The filling in the shawarma is generous and would become a favourite of all the vegetarians who crave good veg shawarma in NCR. I have tried Pita bread in other places before but their bread was just right. It wasn’t too thick or flat. The serving was filling and pleasing to the eye.
I’ve always been a fan of falafel with hummus. Falafel was crispy and well cooked. It is a deep fried ball or patty made from ground chickpeas. It did not have a raw taste of chickpeas which was the best part.
Lastly, about the pickles, they were good. I personally didn’t like them too much because it was beetroot. But for those who do, it’s worth a try. Not too vinegar-y or sour. It was pickled right.
The prices are set just right and the eatery is surely to be made an ‘adda’ of sorts for the sumptuous feast and all in all a great experience.
