India Bistro is the new restaurant that replaces Amreli at Hotel Diplomat, Delhi. The food here is progressive Indian and though the restaurant has not changed much from the Amreli days but the menu certainly has.
Primarily serving North Indian food, the food experts at India Bistro have travelled the length and breadth of the country to handpick their favourite dishes from Wagah to Lucknow and elsewhere.
The menu is divided into grills and curries and the grills, especially the veg ones were quite good. The cheesy broccoli that we were served was a standout for me and surely recommendation worthy. I was also quite impressed with the Multani paneer tikka that brought out punchy NWFP flavours and quite delicious.
Among the main course, the lal murgi and the dal makhani were good. The lal murgi could add more of that fiery Rajasthani flavour and help the dish elevate itself.
Among the desserts there is a nice litchi ki tehree and the soft, melt in the mouth gulab jamuns (served with the ubiquitous ice cream).
Try India Bistro for the ambience, the serenity among the Delhi madness and get different flavours of our favourite North Indian food.
