When the destination is an airport, I am over-conscious and have a margin of at least 2 hours. I have ended up at the airport, sometimes, 4 hours before the flight time and am often the first one to check-in, which leaves me with ample time to spend. This is when airport lounges come to the rescue.

Enjoy a crispy dosa with steaming hot sambhar and delectable chutneys, gorge on the famous samosa chole, relish the pav bhaji, savor the tikki bun and enjoy the bhalla papdi chaat, to name a few. The menu items change daily with most items available daily. To add to the choice, there is a regular buffet on offer that provides a plethora of items to choose from. We enjoyed the crisp plain dosa and the masala dosa served with the hot sambhar and tomato, coconut chutney. The tikki bun is very nice concept and the saunth and kachumber salad just add to the flavors. Pav Bhaji was nice too and bhalla papdi chaat was well made.
When you are done, order a chai from the live counter – a luxury no one else can offer you inside the airport, and who doesn’t know Indian’s love for chai! They have a variety of chai on offer – you have options galore and nothing can give you the satisfaction that a freshly made cup of chai offers.
The Street Food Fiesta is open from October 5 – November 6 at the Domestic Departures in Delhi, Hyderabad and Bangalore airports. If you have an eligible card, everything is complimentary for you (except for the alcohol). If not, lounge access starts at INR 1200 ++ per person.
