The day started early with monks and people from all over the world lining up to see the unveiling of the Amitabha Thanka near to the Naropa palace.
The Thanka is the one if the largest silk embroidered brocade depicting th many stages of the life of Buddha.
Being one of the main events of th entire festival , it was unveiled among much fanfare and lots of prayers.
The evenings at the Naropa festival, as has happened every day, is the time of magical Bollywood performances. Shankar Mahadevan, Loy and Siddharth Mahadevan set the stage on fire with songs like, “Koi Kahe” from the film Dil Chahta Hai. Siddharth sang “Zinda” from the film Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. Shankar is an exemplary singer and even though it was his first visit to Leh, Ladakh he didn’t let that show in his voice. He also sang his famous song “breathless” and it was amazing how he was everything but breathless, even in Ladakh!
Mesmerizing memories and a musical escape packed into one brilliant Day 4
