Nestled away in the bustle of Gurgaon, is the enticing Le Meridien. It is a very contemporary looking hotel with very chic interiors littered with hugely impressive artwork all over.
We were invited to try the quirkily named restaurant, Latest Recipe. The restaurant is the hotel’s massive all day dining restaurant with an impressive array of Indian, Italian and Chinese fare. They have a very unique chaat corner and I began with it. It was surprisingly great and tasted like everything was prepared fresh minutes ago. Even the flavours were spot on and this marked a superb beginning to the meal.
I went on to taste a variety of grills present at the restaurant. I had the chicken tikka, the fish tikka and grilled chicken.
My partner had a fresh Greek salad from the plethora of options at the Salad Bar.
The biggest trepidation I have while trying food at multi cuisine restaurants is that they are never good at one particular thing, but I was pleasantly surprised that each dish was made well and tasted unique.
For my main course I decided to try some Italian pasta and you can customize your pasta here. I opted for fusilli with a green pesto sauce and it was divine. The sauce a tad saltier than I wanted but the flavor of the fresh pesto sang on the plate. My partner had a noodle soup which she really enjoyed as the broth was punchy and aromatic.
Latest recipe has a huge dessert selection too and has a unique cold stone style, teppanyaki ice cream. You can choose your flavor and the chef will put it through a cold slab and combine flavours if you wish so. Other than they have a great assortment of pastries and Indian sweets as well. Safe to say that no one who has a sweet tooth will ever go hungry here.
Latest recipe is a welcome addition to the burgeoning Gurgaon restaurant scene. In fact it does with a sense of panache like no other.
