After the highly successful first season in October 2015, DineFest has come back in a bigger avatar this year with 42 of India’s finest informal dining restaurants across Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore participating in it.
It is a first of its kind bi-annual 10 day culinary event where the participating restaurants offer a prix fixe menu at a fraction of a la carte rates. Both lunch and dinner (with veg and non-veg options) will be offered at Rs. 500++ in Bangalore and Rs. 600++ in Delhi/Gurgaon and Mumbai. The pricing stated is per individual, exclusive of taxes, service charges as well as beverages and dishes outside of the special DineFest menu.
General reservations have already begun from August 8 exclusively through the DineFest website http://www.dinefest.in. The reservation does require a Rs. 50 upfront booking fee per person but given the discounts on offer, I will be more than willing to pay that.
DineFest is a reflection of current dining trends in India where restaurants have begun experimenting with new and interesting concepts. This event will give an opportunity to the diners to discover and experience the restaurants they may not be familiar with.
Details of the participating restaurants, are available on the DineFest website and also on Zomato which is the online partner for the event. Zomato will display a DineFest Collection and will offer online ordering of the DineFest menu for select restaurants as well.
I believe this is a good start and shows how the food industry is opening up in India. Let’s hope there are a lot more fests with many more participating restaurants in future.
Happy eating till then !!
