As the opening ceremony for the olympics continued in Rio, held a #OlympicReady Treasure Hunt. Heavy Rains in the morning led to some delay. As I sat and waited for participants at Starbucks, met new people different bloggers and content writers.
All you had to do was decipher clues, roam the SelectCityWalk mall finding medals in different shops and take pictures with these medals. A point system was there for sending these pictures out on Insta and Twitter, while using #OlympicReady.
As I began, it felt simple, collecting 3–4 medals in under 10 minutes. Then suddenly, the clues got tougher, the places felt further apart and I found out I was no good at either clicking pictures or fast enough to post them on social media.
As I roamed the mall, hunting for medals, I was totally engrossed in the activity, taking selfies with people, reading the list of shops with clues in my hand. After 1 hour of rigours window shopping returned to the meeting point.
It was only after I took a deep breath, I realised how much fun I had. Inspite of my numerous downfalls I got second place collecting 15 medals out of 24. As prizes I got a bag filled with goodies and a medal.
Olympic Ready was a combination of social media promotion with actual exercise and pro-active participation. It was very well organised and so much fun.
