In New Delhi in July 2016, “Boost Juice”, a smoothie revolution from Australia with a global presence held its press conference at Imperial Hotel in Delhi where I got a chance to communicate with Rivoli Sinha, Founder, Joost Juice Bars, India and Janine Allis, Founder, Boost Juice Bars Australia.
Janine has always been the face of this brand and even though she is 50 she looks not a day over 35. I was sipping on “Figalicious – a blend of figs, milk, yoghurt, vanilla and ice” and feelings extremely guilty as it tasted like it had ice cream in it when Janine told me how “Joost Juice Bars” don’t add one “grain” of sugar in their drinks! I was amazed because only a few years ago when I was at Fortis Hospital in Gurgaon and I had a Mango smoothie at Joost I liked it but I didn’t love it. Things have completely changed tasted wise for Joost. I loved my smoothie.
Rivoli Sinha, Founder, Joost Juice Bars, India said that most of her time is spent in acquiring the right kind of fruit from mandis and preparing the right blend for a perfect tasting smoothie. They source blueberries and raspberries from New Zealand; Sweet Charlie, a more appropriate Strawberry, from Mahableshwar-Panchgani belt; Mangoes from Ratnagiri and Apples from Kashmir. Joost has chosen IQF technology to maintain the freshness and quality of a fruit that is either not available in India, or has a seasonal issue without making it a frozen food. The best part about Joost is that you can customise your smoothie in any way you want.
A very simple smoothie recipe:
Mangoes – 1
Mint – 3-4 leaves
Vanilla Extract – 1 Teaspoon
Acacia Honey – 2 Tablespoons
Very Cold Milk – 350 ml
Yoghurt – 2 Tablespoons
A squeeze of Lime!
Blend everything together after everything has been chopped finely and ENJOY!
