With an attempt to showcase the British cuisine in Delhi, Londoners have started operations in GK1. Spread over 3 floors, the mezzanine floor is mainly for private parties and the terrace offers a wonderful seat out given the weather. Packed with a dance floor, the lower floor is apt for fun with friends over drinks and a talented DJ on the console. We were invited for a review.
The place is done like a bar would be in London – full points to that. Having managed to capture tid-bits of London – a red phone booth, replicas of the iconic London buses and pillow covers – the place reflects elements of London everywhere. The tables give you enough to have a private talk and the music on the day of the visit was very appealing – definitely going to be a choice for those crazy dance-your-heart-out parties!
Some efforts are needed on service – for we waited for about 20 minutes before calling for a server, for a menu & then again for quite sometime to take the order. The food came in time, which was a relief. It’s a turn off when you order something, only to be told it is not available later – and it happened with my beverage.
Coming to food, given the limited appetite we had we could just order a few things – Basket of Chips & Dips had a variety of chips with 2 dips – given the chips were the frozen ones available in the market and smelled of oil, definitely a miss for me next time! Tandoori Prawn cocktail was great – the prawn maintaining their texture, the marination doing justice to the name of the dish. With the ultimate motive of not wasting anything, we just ordered Claypot Chicken from the clay pot section – again a good dish where all the ingredients contributed to make the dish one entity.
Our order for Lemon Grass Ice Tea was not available, so we ordered an Apple & Cinnamon Ice tea and Blue Lagoon. Apple & Cinnamon Ice Tea – a good one, but Blue Lagoon was a total disaster. We get it, Londoners is a place apt for having beers(they have a pretty decent price for beers) and drinks, but teetotalers are not be ignored at all!
Baked Cheese Cake & Sticky Toffee Pudding made their way to the table for desserts. While Baked Cheese Cake was complaint less, we would have preferred less (a lot) rum in the sauce, which kind of took the fun away from the caramel sauce. Baked Cheese Cake was absolutely fantastic with the perfect texture and temperature.

Londoners is a decent place for those party days where drink-n-dance is on your mind. A little improvement in their food and service will definitely make it a hot property in town.
