I am a hardcore non-vegetarian but Chef Anoop Singh Bisht from Sattvik made dining experience extremely enjoyable (I wasn’t expecting it to be at all!). The special 5-course Navratri meal at North Indian fine dining restaurant,Sattvik was something everyone should try. I associate Sattvik food with loads of oil but it was truly commendable how chef prepared everything in minimal oil and managed to keep everything delicious.
Sattvik Restaurant is located in Select CITYWALK, Delhi’s most exciting Shopping & Entertainment Destination situated in the heart of South Delhi. Need for a good fine-dining restaurant in South Delhi that serves only vegetarian food gave birth to the idea of this restaurant. Since it serves pure vegetarian food the name was derived from sāttvika – relating to or endowed with the quality sattva (Sanskrit word referring to pure, true, genuine, honest, good, virtuous). Since it’s inception in 2008 it has been a place where people come and relax and have a hearty meal and holistic fine dining experience.
On offer will a delicious range of beverage, snacks, mains and desserts- a total of over 15 items such as Masaladaar Chaach, Saboodana Papad, Kuttu ki Papdi Chaat, Bhuni Shakarkandi ki Chaat, Jimikand ka Kabab with Mirch ki Chutney, Kacche Kele ka Kebab, Masala Arbi, Kuttu aur Singara ki Puri, Samak ki Phirni, Kheer Gud Makhana and many other such satvik delights.
My favourites on the menu were Kuttu aur Singara ki Puri, Paneer Makhni and Samak ki Phirni. I was quite amused to see how beautifully chef had managed to maintain balance in the gravy without using any salt. The puri went beautifully with it. The phirni was subtle and lightly sweetened and was the perfect end to my meal.
The chef sent a beautiful and fragrant cup of tea with Gur Makhana. I am certainly going to come back again and again for that brilliant tea time snack. The menu will vary every three days for Navratri. Those fasting this Navratri (even those who are not!) could not have asked for more!

It’s wonderful to see restaurants come up with menus for vegetarians who hardly have any options of ‘good food’ in Delhi. Should try saatvik right away
