Bestselling International coffee drink, Costa Flat White is finally in India. That’s not all, Costa Coffee collaboration with Harper Collins to bring together a very interactive session with bestselling authors: Anuja Chauhan, Devapriya Roy, Lavanya Raghunathan, Meenakshi Reddy Madhavan, Mridula Koshy & Ruchita Misra. A delight for both coffee and book lovers.
Great conversations were complimented by an even better coffee. The Flat White is a three-shot Espresso and flat no-froth milk which takes coffee drinking to a new high. Costa Flat White takes a lot of skill to be made to give it the smooth and velvety finish that makes it into an exceptionally satisfying coffee drink.
It has more espresso coffee than in your regular cappuccino or latte. The velvety texture of milk is brought about by using very creamily steamed milk which requires a special technique to be made. Each cuppa is handcrafted with a distinctive “florette” pattern.
Present at the event was Mr. Virag Joshi, CEO and President of Devyani International Ltd and Mr Ashish Chanana, COO, Costa Coffee India. Both expressed that India is an exciting market for coffee aficionados.
The flat white has been a great success in Australia and New Zealand. It is promising to promote the Costa Coffee stores not only in India but globally. The man behind the White Flat – Mr. Devender Kumar, last year winner of ‘Barista of the year’ took us to a whole new journey by sharing some expert tips and experiences on coffee making.
The whole event was attended by bloggers, writers, editors, coffee and book enthusiasts. The venue was a little over crowded but once the RJ Chris began everyone was transfixed.
On a personal note I found the Flat White had bitter perfection, the milk is heated but not exactly frothed, though there is the smallest amount of bubbling, it has blended perfectly with the coffee which results into a smooth, velvety finish. I found it was delicious.
Another reason for you to head towards your nearest Costa Coffee for a dose of Flat White and some lovely tales to read from Harper Collins.
