When I heard of the Wendy’s opening this morning. I was elated! I didn’t even know Wendy’s was coming to India. Getting here took two full years but I’m sure it was definitely worth the effort and patience.
I looked at the menu, and I was overwhelmed! Especially when I saw bacon on the menu.
I promptly ordered the ‘Baconator’ and the ‘Greek Mutton’ for my friend. One bite of the juicy Baconator and I was in burger heaven! The burger had the perfect amount of cheese, barbeque sauce and mayo. The bun of course, was soft and had the perfect flavor.
The ‘Greek Mutton’ was done in a chilli brioche bun and Tzatziki sauce. The patty was tender and done to perfection.
The café like vibe was definitely a plus. I had expected it to be like any other fast food joint, with bright yellow and red plastic; much like a children’s playground but I was pleasantly surprised!
The music choice was also completely in sync with the vibe Wendy’s had and I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
I had been eyeing the chipotle on the menu so I ordered the Smoked Chipotle next with the chili ghost burger. The chipotle was done in a sesame bun with a smoked chipotle sauce, the chicken again, was done to perfection but not being a chipotle lover, I was only mildly satisfied with it. The Ghost Chilli of course, with it’s hot chilli sauce, again done in a chili briouche bun, with it’s lovely green chillis, was definitely the star on menu.
I decided to try some drinks while I was at it and absolutely loved the watermelon cooler as well as the cold coffee. Unlike other fast food places, Wendy’s has a semi automatic coffee machine so you don’t have to drink coffee made from a pre mix!
To end my meal, I thought it wouldn’t be fair to the vegetarians I didn’t sample anything vegetarian on the menu so I tried the aloo crunch burger and really really liked it. No, I am not exaggerating. It had a perfect sauce and baby potatoes, grilled to the perfect crunch.
I might even eat it again and being a hard-core meat lover, that would be quite an achievement!
It was the perfect Sunday and I am really looking forward to Wendy’s being officially open for business!
XOXO
