Restaurant Review: Sapori di Bice, Al Safa, Dubai – 4.5/5 Stars

It was the beginning of the Delhi winter, a beautiful evening, we were all sitting in our living room and sipping on hot tea when suddenly my family called from Dubai. “We have a surprise for all of you. We have booked tomorrow’s flight tickets for you and the visa is ready too. All of you are coming to Dubai!”. It was revealed that the Dubai weather is very pleasant. We started our preparations and packing and left the very next day. The next morning, as we landed in Dubai, we noticed how truly amazing and pleasant the weather was. The infinite blue sea stretched far beyond the horizon and it looked so welcoming as if it were asking us to visit its home.

A friend had recommended an Italian restaurant Sapori Di Bice so highly that we also wanted to taste the fine and delicious food at this place in the brand new Citywalk in Al Safa. As soon as we entered the restaurant, we immediately felt joyous and delighted. The servers welcomed us with a true heart and a genuinely warm smile. My grandchild is extremely chirpy and full of energy. As she is very intelligent, we need to keep her occupied 24/7. There was a live pizza-making counter which is an incredible and interactive experience for the kids. After the kid in the family made a Tomato, Cheese pizza, she jumped with joy when she saw her heart shaped creation. She really is so fond of cooking. Then we ordered a bottle of Acqua Panna, the Tuscan spring water which I completely love the taste of followed by the bread basket which arrived a few minutes later. The bread basket came with three different types of sauces. There was an olive oil dip, one with herbs and another cheesy spread type dip. The sauced helped to tease our taste buds and whet out appetite.

We started out meal with Rosemary Roasted Potatoes which is Patate Arrosti Al Rosemarino. Along with the tomato cheese pizza that was made by the child, we relished each bite of the warm herbed potatoes. The main course started with Risotto Ai Funghi di Bosco. There was some super fine Canroroli rice with mix, sautéed mushrooms and fresh rosemary in that. Just then, a server came and sprinkled some freshly grated parmesan on my rustic risotto. The first bite transported me to a home in Vicenza, Italy and it felt like they had made this risotto for me in their Italian abode.

The Veal Ravioli in Spinach and wild mushroom cream sauce which was the second main course dish that we ordered was beautiful as well. The ravioli was perfectly done and the balance of flavours was perfect.

The rotisserie chicken was very succulent and it came with three different sauces and I particularly loved the barbecue one. The crisp roasted skin on the outside was my favourite part. I also loved the green salad which we ordered that had some fresh endive leaves, cucumber and cherry tomatoes with a lovely balsamic dressing on the side.

For our drinks, we ordered a Mango-orange smoothie and a Date- Banana smoothie which had low-fat yoghurt which was the perfect accompaniement to the meal . The Saudi Arabian dates combined with banana is the perfect combination. The flavour selection was just right and we felt like we’d made the perfect choice.

Everything in this place was so appealing that I instantly felt at home and whoever expects warm, welcoming servers who make you see how great this place is should give it a shot. I highly recommend Sapori Di Bice and would advice everyone to there for some authentic Italian food in a very warm and cheerful but calm ambience away from the hustle-bustle of big city life.

XOXO
