I found out for the very first time at Vaishno Devi in Jammu that Country inn is a vegetarian hotel. For a carnivore like me it wasn’t the best news but I thought I would manage. The food tastes quite good.
They have a lovely chocolate boutique, which fascinated me. I am obsessed with chocolate. It was quite good! My niece really enjoyed it so it made me happy too, actually that’s a lie, I was just as excited she was! 😉
The salad counter was interesting too. The live pasta counter was where I was found through a good part of my meal. Pasta is brilliant when prepared fresh.
The chana kulcha (tasty and really fresh), crisp fried paneer (really soft), tikkis (beautifully flavoured), etc. Everything on the menu was absolutely delectable. The flavours were fantastic; the mélange of Indian spices was commendable. I applaud the chef for such a fantastic job with spices.
The hunger inducing thin crust pizza is another great thing on the menu that must not be missed. The chaat items like dahi bhalla and gol gappas are fabulous. I do not prefer chaat but the Delhi-wallas sure do and if you are interested in a hygienic place to eat chat 64/6 is where you should go. Thumbs up!
