I was in Galleria Market the other day with my family after a long day of house hunting. (It can get really exhausting in the ‘Dilli ki garmi’!) After which we got really hungry, we knew exactly where we wanted to go for lunch – Chaayos.
Nothing can cheer my mom up more than a nice hot cup of “Adrak Chai”, it doesn’t matter to her if it is 40 degrees. It doesn’t matter to me either. We are tea aficionados and we want our tea 5 times a day.
As you walk into the Galleria Market, you will notice a bright little red joint called “Khan Chacha”, it is impossible to miss. Right above Khan Chacha is Chaayos.
Chaayos has been a favourite ever since I first tried its “Honey Garlic Mayo Dip”. The chai has gotten even better. I like the plain tea just as much as I like the “Ginger-Cardamon Masala Chai”. I like the sandwich-chai combo very much. When I throw in a book with that combo, I have myself a perfect summer afternoon. It is different with family. You have so much to talk about that you tend to miss the food and not think about what you are eating. It was different with Chaayos. We talked a lot but as we bit into the “Butter Chicken Sandwich” or the “Kadhai Paneer Sandwich”, we would stop for a couple of seconds to hmmm and ummm. Beautifully marinaded chicken and paneer that went beautifully with our chais.
I love how Chaayos “Experiments with Chai”. I can never be prepared for the surprises at this Cafe. Chaayos not only experiments with Chai, they also experiment with their sandwiches. I’ve never had a butter chicken sandwich before, have you?
I love how Chaayos uses only the highest quality ingredients and offer 25 varieties of tea that can be customised in more than 4,000 ways. Isn’t that cool! This is “THE” place for a chai lover.
Other than my sandwiches, I also had their “Blueberry Tea Cake” and “Strawberry Shake”. The “Blueberry Tea Cake and a cup of chai tasted amazing, the combo was a marriage made in heaven. The “Strawberry Shake” was quite healthy but I wouldn’t go hopping back for it.
Chaayos serves Indian specialty teas like “Kahwa” like the one I had in Kashmir on my recent trip. This chai reminded me of that. They have a lot of other exotic teas like moroccan mint and camomile tea. Chaayos offers extremely tempting options, Chaayos is one of my fave repeat outlets.
