Restaurant Review: Route 04, Middle Circle, Connaught Place, New Delhi – 3/5 Stars

I love Connaught Place. It is one of my most favourite places in Delhi – so many memories. I love Wenger’s, Keventers (now Shake Square), Zen and Rodeo. All these places have been around forever. I cannot imagine CP without these restaurants. New restaurants are constantly added to this old ‘open mall’ and when they are, it makes me really happy. I love food and I love trying new restaurants so when I found Route 04 in the Middle Circle of CP, I was thrilled. We had gone to CP to look at the huge national flag, measuring 90 feet in length, 60 feet in width and weighing 35 kgs, that was hoisted at the Central Park.

After walking a lot, we got hungry and we decided to go to Route 04. When I entered Route 04, I saw a lot of singing and dancing – Karaoke night! Wow! I love Karaoke nights. I was absolutely thrilled. I like signing but I have never sung in front of so many people. I have to admit I was really nervous but when my favourite songs started playing, I just had to get up and sing.

I really did not enjoy the bar grub or starters very much though. They were only okay. I did enjoy the atmosphere. The service was very slow in the beginning and we were not served for over 30 minutes – sigh. However, once we were served our drinks – beer and margaritas, we couldn’t care much about the service because we were too busy having a good time. I am not much of a drinker but I did have a glass or two and that is enough to get me in the mood to shake a leg and sing.

I would recommend Karaoke nights at Route 04.
